I am an eclectic, gregarious, outgoing person. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family; husband, Doug and two kids Maggie age 13 and Locke age 17. I'm a great networker, I love bringing people together, meeting them, talking with them and making connections. I'm an instigator, a community and political activist and a strategic optimist.
For the past 15 years I have been a stay-at-home mom, homeschooler and "professional" volunteer. I have raised over $150,000 for various organizations.
I'm really attracted to all things ethnic, like old beads, folk art, textiles, jewelry, clothing and world music. I have been playing African marimba music for 8 years and I am in a marimba band.
Previous to being home with my family, I worked on one of the largest National Forests in the Pacific Northwest. I am also a forester by trade and have a degree in Forest Management. During my 12 plus years with the US Forest Service I used to fight forest fires and write plans for planting trees in areas that had been cut.
I am very interested in the sustainable business and social and environmental justice movement. I make things happen.
